We recently had the honor of attending the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Chamber of Commerce’s annual Business Excellence Awards (the BEAs) as a finalist in the Micro-Enterprise Business of the Year category, which is a business with 5 or fewer employees. We had a great time, and as always, The Chamber threw a great party. The team got all dolled up and headed over to Chapel Hill’s Paul Green Theatre. To begin the night, there was a wonderful cocktail reception where we enjoyed tasty beverages provided by Glass Half Full and networking with fellow local businesses.
We then headed into the awards part of the night and were treated to some amazing improv by the fine folks over at The PIT Chapel Hill. Then it came down to award time, we were very honored and excited to be a finalist. The 2019 Business of the Year Awards are presented to outstanding Chamber members that have shown growth, innovation of product, exemplary customer service, response to adversity, and contributions to the community. In the end our friends at Graphix Solution were announced as the winner of the Micro Business of the Year. We are so proud of them and are happy that a business that we love to work with won. The next time you see our van around town, you can thank them for the super cute graphics. A special thanks to Stephen for the shout out from the podium!
We are big fans of the mission of The Chamber and its focus on our community. Aaron Nelson, the President and CEO of The Chamber did a great job of summarizing why we think the BEAs are so important: “The common purpose that brings us together is the shared belief that successful businesses are essential to the overall health of our community. Through the Business Excellence Awards, we focus locally – on our community and its employers – and celebrate the best among us.”
